Christmas is days away and I'm finding that is a great motivator to get some sewing finished for my girls.
The fabric used to be a pillowcase which I spied for $1 at the Salvos.
I based this on those other gathered pillowcase tops you see floating around the web but because the fabric was stiff, I pleated the front neckline instead.
Now to finish a nightie....

What a super creative use of a pillowcase! Your little one will love it...off to have a peek around your blog...J
ReplyDeletethanks for following along Judith. :)
DeleteSo so cute! I think the pleats make it look more finished than the gathered dresses I've seen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kat. Bit more effort on the pleats but I do like it more. Congrats on the boy news btw! :)
DeleteThanks!
DeleteThe chevron looks very trendy! "Summer" and "Christmas" in the same blog post...that is so weird to me, haha! We had just a little bit of snow blowing around here yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHAHA... would it totally spin you out if I said we even went to the beach on the weekend and will be having Christmas OUTSIDE! hehe.
DeleteThat is such a cool print. I can't believe it started life as a pillowcase!
ReplyDeletePillowcases are great for quick projects! I love the print too.
DeleteI love this variation rather than elasticised! Gorgeous! Happy Christmas to you xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Rach! Merry Christmas to you too xox
DeleteCute! I love this. The fabric is adorable!
